Box Score FARGO, N.D.--Amanda Girodat scored a career-high 21 points and 11 of 13 players scored as North Dakota State University defeated Valley City State 85-48 in a women's college basketball game played Saturday, Dec. 15, before 1,261 fans in the Bison Sports Arena.
North Dakota State (4-5, 1-1 Summit League) is scheduled to play at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (3-5) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, and at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (5-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22. Valley City State (5-7) is scheduled to play at Concordia College on Dec. 29.
The Bison scored the first 17 points of the game before Valley City State's Krista Beek hit a jumer from the right corner with 13:11 left in the first half. NDSU emptied the bench within the first 12 minutes of the game and led 48-24 at halftime.
Girodat, a 5-foot-8 senior from Kindred, N.D., connected on 8 of 13 from the field overall and her first five 3-point attempts. She seriously challenged the NDSU single-game percentage record of 5 of 5 three-point field goals made set by Katie Lorenz against Cincinnati during the 2005 season.
North Dakota State connected on 46.8 percent from the field compared to 27.7 percent for Valley City State. The Bison scored 23 points off of 17 Viking turnovers.
Girodat, who added eight assists and rebounds, led a group of three players in double figures for NDSU. Lisa Bue netted 15 points and snared nine rebounds, while Brenda Slyt added 11 points.
The Bison held a 47-38 advantage in rebounds. NDSU had a season-high 11 blocked shots as Jerri Penley (6) and Bue (3) each matched career bests.
Valley City State was led by Terra Billiet's team-high eight points and five rebounds.
