TULSA, Okla.--North Dakota State lost its Summit League opener 69-57 at Oral Roberts on Thursday despite the game-high 22 points of forward Brett Winkelman and the 13 points and 10 rebounds of guard Mike Nelson.

ORU held the Bison to 35 percent shooting and limited guard Ben Woodside, the nation's third leading scorer, to just six points.

The Golden Eagles shot 50 percent overall, including 11-for-20 from the 3-point line.  Robert Jarvis had 13 points while teammates Shawn King, Adam Liberty and Moses Ehambe all scored 11.

Oral Roberts (5-3, 1-0) made six 3-pointers in the first half, including two from Jarvis on back-to-back possessions to give ORU a 26-13 lead at the 5:39 mark.  It was 35-24 at halftime.

North Dakota State (4-5, 0-1) pulled within eight twice in the second half.  Nelson's layup and 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions cut the deficit to 49-41 with 8:54 to play.

After a Yemi Ogunoye dunk put the Golden Eagles back up 10, Nelson answered with another layup -- his third straight field goal -- to make it 51-43.

Liberty and Ehambe made consecutive 3-pointers as ORU kept a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

NDSU had a 39-31 rebounding advantage over the taller Golden Eagles.  Behind Nelson's 10, center Lucas Moormann had nine.
