FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State University today announced the addition of KPOK-AM 1340 of Bowman, N.D., to the Bison Radio Network. KPOK will begin broadcasting Bison football on October 6 for the homecoming game against the University of California-Davis.
KPOK is the 11th station on the Bison Radio Network. It stretches well into South Dakota and into eastern Montana. It currently carries Bowman County High School athletic events as well as Denver Broncos football.
"KPOK has a strong signal that booms through the heart of pheasant country in western North Dakota," said NDSU Director of Broadcasting Jeremy Jorgenson. "Bison football is virtually statewide as we hit the heart of the schedule."
Jorgenson noted that the southwestern portion of North Dakota was the lone area in the state lacking in football coverage of the Bison. KPOK joins a lineup of seven different stations in North Dakota and one in Minnesota currently carrying Bison football broadcasts. NDSU signed KRCG of Detroit Lakes in August as the first radio station for Bison football in Minnesota.
KPOK-AM 1340 joins KLXX-AM 1270 Bismarck, KDVL-FM 102.5 Devils Lake, KRVX-FM 103.1 Jamestown-Valley City, KQLX-FM 106.1 Lisbon, KZZJ-AM 1450 Rugby, KEYZ-AM 660 Williston, KBMW-AM 1450 Wahpeton, KHRT-AM 1320 Minot, KRCQ-FM 102.3 Detroit Lakes and WDAY-AM 970 Fargo.
The UC Davis game will also be televised statewide on the North Dakota NBC Network. No. 3 North Dakota State (3-0) plays at No. 17 Western Illinois at 1 p.m. Saturday.
