Box Score FARGO, N.D.--Ben Woodside scored a game-high 25 points and Michael Tveidt hit four 3-pointers to spark North Dakota State to a 90-63 victory over South Dakota State in Summit League men's basketball Friday, Jan. 25.
Woodside was 8-for-14 from the field and 8-for-10 at the free-throw line. He added six assists, five rebounds and two steals for the Bison, who improved to 11-9 overall and 5-4 in The Summit.
Tveidt, a native of Pierre, S.D., finished with a career-high 16 points for NDSU. He had 14 points by the midway point of the first half, including two steals that led to baskets on a 15-0 Bison run.
North Dakota State went ahead 33-11 at the 9:36 mark of the first half when Tveidt swished his third and fourth 3-pointers on consecutive possessions. The Bison doubled up SDSU by halftime, 56-28.
NDSU shot 64 percent in the first half and had 20 points off 12 SDSU turnovers before intermission.
The Bison shot 53 percent for the game. Brett Winkelman had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists for NDSU.
South Dakota State (7-13, 2-7) shot 44 percent overall. The Jacks got 17 points from Kai Williams, 12 points from Ben Beran, and a game-high eight rebounds from Anthony Cordova.
The teams are back on the road when the Summit League schedule continues next Thursday, Jan. 31. South Dakota State plays at IPFW while North Dakota State goes to Oakland.
