Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Ben Woodside led North Dakota State with 18 points Thursday night as the Bison rolled over UMKC 73-44 in a Summit League men's basketball game at Kemper Arena.
The Bison (13-12, 7-7 Summit League) had three players in double figures in a game they led 37-19 at halftime.
The Kangaroos (8-18, 3-10) lost their fourth straight game, and the 29-point loss was the biggest this season for UMKC. It was NDSU's biggest road win since December 1994 at Bemidji State.
North Dakota State took control of the game with a 17-0 run in the first half. After a putback off an offensive rebound brought UMKC to within three at 20-17 with 8:24 remaining in the half, the Bison scored the next 17 to make it 37-17 with 1:12 left in the period.
The Bison gained their biggest lead after a basket by Sam Sussenguth made it 65-31 with 6:45 left in the game.
North Dakota State dominated from 3-point range, hitting 10-of-18 while the Kangaroos made only 2-of-19, and on the boards, with 40 rebounds to UMKC's 24.
Mike Nelson had 15 points for the Bison and Brett Winkelman added 13. Josh Vaughan had eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
The only scorer in double figures for UMKC was Reggie Hamilton with 10.
North Dakota State plays at Southern Utah at 7:30 p.m. MT on Saturday, Feb. 16. The Thunderbirds (7-17, 5-8) beat South Dakota State 77-71 on Thursday night.
