Bison Erase Early 15-Point Deficit, Win 63-62 at UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif.--Eric Carlson scored 17 points and Michael Tveidt added 16 to lead North Dakota State to a 63-62 victory over UC Davis in men's college basketball Tuesday, Nov. 24, before a crowd of 1,427 at The Pavilion.

North Dakota State (2-2) committed turnovers on its final four possessions, and Tveidt's missed free throw with 8.2 seconds left gave UC Davis a chance to win on its final possession.

The Aggies threw a pass out of bounds with 1.0 left on the clock and the Bison successfully inbounded the ball the length of the court and ran out the clock.

Dominic Calegari had 23 points and Mark Payne scored 15 for the Aggies (2-3).

UC Davis raced out to a 17-2 lead, but the Bison went on a 15-0 run with points from four different players over a five-minute span midway through the first half to tie the game at 24.

UC Davis led 33-31 at halftime.  Carlson's layup with 14:28 left in the game gave North Dakota State its first lead, 40-39.

Jordan Aaberg's basket gave NDSU a 54-47 lead with 7:46 left in the game.  The Bison went ahead by as many as eight points twice in the final five minutes of the game.

Carlson's layup with 3:31 left gave NDSU a 63-55 lead, but it was the last time the Bison scored.

North Dakota State shot 58.5 percent compared to 42.6 percent for UC Davis.  NDSU had a 29-26 rebounding edge led by Tveidt's six and five apiece from Carlson and Josh Vaughan.

Vaughan had six points and six asssists, and Aaberg finished with six points.

North Dakota State is scheduled to host Wisconsin-Green Bay (4-2) on Friday, Nov. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bison Sports Arena.
