Box Score FRESNO, Calif.--Fresno State scored 24 points off turnovers and blocked 13 shots to roll to a 68-54 victory over North Dakota State in college men's basketball Saturday, Dec. 19, before a crowd of 7,460 at the Save Mart Center.
Josh Vaughan made four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points for North Dakota State (4-6), but the Bison shot just 34.5 percent from the floor. Michael Tveidt added 11 points and four assists.
Mike Ladd scored 15 points for Fresno State, Sylvester Seay had 14 points and four blocks, and Paul George had 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Greg Smith added five points, a team-high 10 rebounds and five blocks for the Bulldogs (6-5).
NDSU made only three field goals in the first 10 minutes of the game as Fresno State jumped out to a 20-7 lead. The Bulldogs took advantage of 14 first-half Bison turnovers and built a 15-point lead before halftime.
Fresno State went ahead by as many as 18 early in the second half, but the Bison went on a pair of 7-0 runs and got as close as nine points on a Vaughan 3-pointer that made it 54-45 with 7:35 left to play.
Dejuan Flowers snared a career-high 11 rebounds as North Dakota State outrebounded Fresno State 40-37. Vaughan added nine rebounds and Eric Carlson had seven.
NDSU shot only 7 of 18 from the free-throw line for 38.9 percent. The Bison were 9 of 21 from the 3-point line for 42.9 percent.
North Dakota State is scheduled to play at Wichita State at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21. The Shockers are 10-1 overall and 7-0 at home after an 85-83 win over Texas Tech on Saturday.
