Box Score FARGO, N.D. ? Michael Tveidt scored a career-high 29 points to lead North Dakota State to an 82-70 victory over Centenary in Summit League men's basketball Thursday, Dec. 31, before a crowd of 2,369 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Tveidt had 10 points during an 18-0 run midway through the second half as North Dakota State (5-7, 2-1) put the game out of reach.
Centenary (5-8, 1-2) went scoreless for 7 ½ minutes and trailed 72-49 before Daman Starring's layup inside the 8-minute mark ended the drought.
Centenary shot 54 percent in the first half and led by as many as seven points midway through the period. The Gents were 9-for-26 in the second half for 35 percent.
Austin Pennick added a career-high 12 points and Eric Carlson and Josh Vaughan scored 11 apiece for North Dakota State. The Bison shot 49 percent overall.
NDSU had a 38-31 rebounding advantage with seven from Carlson and Jordan Aaberg, who scored eight points in his second collegiate start.
Starring, Roman Tubner and Maxx Nakwaasah scored 14 points apiece for Centenary. Jerrald Bonham added 13 points and led the Gents with seven rebounds.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2. The Golden Eagles are 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the league after a 72-70 loss at South Dakota State on Thursday.
