Box Score FARGO, N.D.--Tell Ross drove in three runs and Justin Kraft struck out eight batters to lead Centenary to a 6-4 victory over North Dakota State in the first of a four-game Summit League baseball series Friday, May 1, at Newman Outdoor Field.
Ross tied the game in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly and hit a two-out, two-run single in the eighth that held up as the game-winner. Kraft (6-2) scattered 11 hits and walked only one in his fourth complete game of the year.  He threw 141 pitches.
Travis Leverson and Michael Tompkins each had two hits for Centenary (28-11, 11-5), and Tim Deering hit his first home run of the season to cap the Gents' three-run fourth inning.
Justin Kline was 3-for-3 and scored two runs for North Dakota State (12-21, 6-8).  Zach Wentz was 2-for-5 with a stolen base and Luke Otto was 2-for-4 with a double.
NDSU starter Glenn Parker allowed three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk.  The loss went to reliever Alex Chaput, who allowed three runs on three hits and dropped to 2-1.  Jeff Kyllo struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth.
The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday, May 2, beginning at 1 p.m. with a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning game.
