Kelli Layman Named Associate Director of Learning Services/Athletic Academics at North Dakota State

FARGO, N.D.--Kelli Layman, Assistant Director Athletic Academics was named Associate Director of Learning Services/Athletic Academics at North Dakota State University following a national search. Layman's expanded duties include oversight of campus wide academic enhancement programs including athletic academics, tutoring service, and identification of at-risk students.

 

Layman is to lead the management of the University's tutoring service -- Academic Collegiate Enhancement (ACE) -- supervise professional staff members and graduate assistants, oversee the student-athlete's academic expectations and ensure compliance with NCAA academic regulations. Layman is part of the staff of Orientation and Student Success and will collaborate closely with academic advisors, coaches, the Registration and Records Office, and Student Financial Services.

 

Layman holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Purdue University where she was as an academic liaison responsible for supervising the academic progress of students-athletes. Previous to her role as Assistant Director Athletic Academics, Layman served as Associate head coach for women's basketball and a lecturer in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation at NDSU.

I am excited about her leadership of this important area” stated Laura Oster-Aaland, Director Orientation and Student Success.

 

Layman's appointment was effective Sept. 1.
