SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--Dominique Morrison scored seven of his team-high 16 points in overtime to lead Oral Roberts to a 65-64 victory over North Dakota State in the Summit League men's basketball quarterfinals Sunday, March 7, before a crowd of 6,245 at Sioux Falls Arena.

Oral Roberts improved to 20-12 and advaned to Monday night's 8:30 p.m. semifinal against IUPUI, which defeated Western Illinois 77-68 on Saturday night.  North Dakota State ended its first losing season in eight years with an 11-18 record.

Oral Roberts led 38-29 at halftime and went up by as many as 13 points early in the second half on baskets by Warren Niles and Morrison.

ORU led 54-47 before going scoreless for 5 1/2 minutes, and North Dakota State tied it at 54 on a three-point play by Michael Tveidt with 1:05 left in regulation.

Damen Bell-Holter scored on a putback with 31.3 seconds left, and Tveidt's bank shot with 14.3 to play tied it at 56 and forced overtime.

Morrison's 3-pointer on the first overtime possession and a Kevin Ford layup after an NDSU turnover put the Golden Eagles ahead by five.

NDSU was within one point twice in the final two minutes, the last time on a Sam Sussenguth reverse layup with 11.8 seconds left that made it 65-64.

After Morrison missed the first of a one-and-one free throw opportunity, Eric Carlson pulled down the rebound and the Bison scrambled for the last shot.  A hurried jump shot by Nate Zastrow bounced off at the buzzer.

Tveidt scored a game-high 22 points and had seven rebounds for North Dakota State, Carlson had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Sussenguth finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Niles finished with 14 points and Michael Craion scored 10 for Oral Roberts.

Bell-Holter and Ford each grabbed nine rebounds and Morrison had eight to lead Oral Roberts to a 48-34 rebounding advantage, which was NDSU's worst deficit on the glass all season (-14).  ORU had 15 offensive rebounds and scored 11 second-chance points.

North Dakota State shot 41.4 percent compared to 36.2 percent for Oral Roberts.  NDSU blocked eight shots, including three apiece for Sussenguth and Josh Vaughan, who had seven points and six rebounds.

The loss ended NDSU's first losing season as a Division I program. The Bison had won at least 16 games in six straight season and hadn't finished under the .500 mark since the 2001-02 team went 11-15.

NDSU lost 18 games for the first time since 1971-72.  The Bison were 5-7 in games decided by six points or less.
