Felt Ties 3-Point Record in 76-60 Win Over Centenary

FARGO, N.D. - Mike Felt tied a school record with seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points to lead North Dakota State to a 76-60 win over Centenary in Summit League men's basketball Saturday, Jan. 8, before a crowd of 2,958 at the Bison Sports Arena.

TrayVonn Wright scored 15 points off the bench, Michael Tveidt had 13 points and Marshall Bjorklund scored 11 for the Bison, who improved to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the league with their seventh straight home win.

Jeron Trotman had 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Gents, who fell to 0-17 overall and 0-6 in the league with their 22nd straight game dating back to last year.

Felt was 7-for-11 from the arc and finished one point shy of his career-high 22 points against Oral Roberts two nights ago.  NDSU, ranked sixth nationally in 3-point shooting, made a season-high 12 treys on 25 attempts for 48.0 percent.

Felt's second 3-pointer of the night capped a 14-0 Bison run over a six-minute span of the first half that gave NDSU a 30-12 lead with 5:07 left before halftime.

North Dakota State led 43-22 at halftime and went up by as many as 30 points midway through the second half when Felt's back-to-back 3-pointers made it 63-33 with 11:09 to play.

Centenary had a 30-29 edge in total rebounds.  NDSU shot 45.5 percent overall compared to 44.2 percent for the Gents.

North Dakota State is scheduled to play at IUPUI on Thursday, Jan. 13, and Western Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 15, before returning home for four straight Summit League games to close out the month.
