Box Score FARGO, N.D. - Mike Felt made five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points off the bench to lead North Dakota State to a 65-61 win over Green Bay in men's college basketball Wednesday, Nov. 16, before a crowd of 2,450 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Lawrence Alexander had 12 points, seven assists and four steals, and Marshall Bjorklund added 11 points and a season-high 13 rebounds for NDSU, which won its fourth straight game to start the season.
Seven-foot-1 center Alec Brown had 16 points, eight rebounds and five blocks for Green Bay (1-2) and Steve Baker added 16 points for the Phoenix.
Green Bay made six of its first seven field goal attempts to go up 13-6 at the 14:42 mark of the first half, but the Phoenix followed that with a miss and four straight turnovers as NDSU got rolling with a 9-0 run.
NDSU led 34-31 at halftime and went up by as many as seven points midway through the second half when a Felt 3-pointer gave the Bison a 46-39 lead with 12:28 to play.
Green Bay whittled the deficit to one point on three separate occasions before taking back the lead 55-54 on Brown's jumper with 2:37 left.
Dylan Hale made two foul shots to put NDSU back in front, and Felt knocked down another triple after a Green Bay turnover to stretch the Bison lead to 59-55 at the 1:39 mark.
NDSU made 6 of 8 free throws from that point to up seven and the Phoenix got a 3-pointer from Baker at the buzzer for the final margin.
Green Bay had a 42-36 advantage in total rebounds, but committed 18
turnovers which led to 20 points for NDSU. The Bison had a season-low
eight turnovers.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host future Summit League member Nebraska Omaha at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22. The Mavericks are 1-2 after a 77-74 loss at UMKC on Wednesday.
