Bison Rout Nebraska Omaha for Fifth Straight Win, 98-65

FARGO, N.D. - Lawrence Alexander had 16 points to lead seven players in double figures as North Dakota State routed Nebraska Omaha 98-65 in college men's basketball Tuesday, Nov. 22, before a crowd of 2,103 at the Bison Sports Arena.

TrayVonn Wright had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Jordan Aaberg added career highs of 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench for North Dakota State, which improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2000-01.

John Karhoff had 14 points and Mitch Albers scored 11 for Nebraska Omaha, which dropped to 1-4 in its first year as a Division I independent.  The Mavericks begin play in The Summit League next season.

North Dakota State went ahead for good less than four minutes into the game on back-to-back 3-pointers by Mike Felt that made it 13-8.

NDSU extended its lead to double digits with a Dylan Hale 3-pointer and fast-break layup that put the Bison ahead 24-13 midway through the first.

Taylor Braun's follow-up dunk at the buzzer gave NDSU a 51-25 halftime lead, and the Bison led by as many as 36 in the second half.

NDSU had a 49-29 advantage in total rebounds and shot 51.4 percent from the floor compared to 37.3 percent by Nebraska Omaha.

The Bison were 13 of 25 from the 3-point line, their most treys since making 13 of 24 in a 22-point win at IUPUI on Feb. 7, 2009.  Drew Lundberg was 3 of 3 from the arc and had 11 points in 12 second-half minutes.

NDSU's other double digit scorers were Braun and Marshall Bjorklund with 10 points apiece and Felt, who finished with three 3-pointers and 11 points.

North Dakota State is scheduled to host Fresno State at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.  The Bulldogs (2-3) are coming off back-to-back losses to Manhattan and Texas-San Antonio in the NIT Season Tip-Off.
