Box Score FARGO, N.D. - Marshall Bjorklund scored 15 points and North Dakota State shot 62 percent on its way to a 92-50 rout of Mayville State in college men's basketball Saturday, Dec. 17, before a crowd of 1,625 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Dylan Hale and Drew Lundberg scored 11 points apiece for the Bison (8-2), who shot 79 percent in the first half and led 57-20 at intermission. Their biggest lead was 44 points midway through the second half.
Eric Shulstad scored 16 points and Gus Kueber had eight points, six rebounds and four assists for the Comets (7-7), who counted the game as an exhibition under NAIA rules.
NDSU opened the game on an 18-3 run and made 16 of its first 20 shots. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Mike Felt made it 47-15 four minutes before halftime and the Bison lead was at least 30 the rest of the way.
Senior forward Eric Carlson played in his first regular-season game of the year for NDSU after suffering a broken jaw in the Nov. 1 exhibition loss to Minnesota State Moorhead. Carlson had four points, two assists and a game-high nine rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
North Dakota State is scheduled to play Minnesota at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The Gophers are 11-1 after a 76-56 win over Central Michigan on Tuesday.
