Box Score BEAUMONT, Texas - Kevin Roebuck went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Lamar to a 15-2 win over North Dakota State in the first of a four-game college baseball series Friday, Feb. 25, at Vincent-Beck Stadium.
Jude Vidrine's two-run double in the fourth broke a 2-2 tie and sparked a four-run inning for the Cardinals (3-3), who scored two in the fifth, three in the sixth and four more in the eighth.
Second baseman Tanner Adam was 2-for-3 and catcher Tyler Steen was 2-for-4 to lead North Dakota State (0-4). NDSU starter Kyle Kingsley allowed six runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout in 3 1/3 innings for the loss.
NDSU scored both of its runs in the third inning. Tim Colwell led off with a bunt single, moved up on a Max Casper sac bunt and wild pitch, then scored on his brother Nick Colwell's groundout.
Nick Anderson followed with a single and Zach Wentz scored him with a double on the next play to give NDSU a 2-1 lead.
The teams are scheduled to play a noon doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 26, and the series finale is at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.
