Box Score TULSA, Okla. - Warren Niles made three 3-pointers and scored 14 points in the second half to lead Oral Roberts to an 81-73 win over North Dakota State in Summit League men's basketball Saturday, Feb. 5, before a crowd of 4,125 at the Mabee Center.
Niles, Roderick Pearson and Damen Bell-Holter each finished with 18 points and Dominique Morrison had 14 for Oral Roberts, which improved to 11-14 overall and 8-5 in the league.
Michael Tveidt scored 19 points and Eric Carlson had 15 points for North Dakota State, which slipped to 12-11 overall and 6-7 in the league. Marshall Bjorklund had nine points and eight rebounds, and Drew Lundberg got nine points and four assists.
Tveidt had 14 points in the first half and North Dakota State shot 63 percent to take a 44-34 halftime lead. NDSU's biggest lead was 52-38 with 16:41 left to play in the game.
Niles hit a pair of 3-pointers as Oral Roberts answered with nine straight points to cut the lead to single digits. ORU later got a 6-0 run capped by two Steven Roundtree free throws to go ahead for the first time in the game, 59-57 with 11:07 left.
It was tied 63-63 before ORU went on an 11-2 run to pull away for good.
North Dakota State missed six of its first seven shots in the second half and shot just 31 percent (8-for-26) after halftime.
Oral Roberts had a 40-28 advantage in total rebounds, including 27-9 in the second half. Bell-Holter grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
ORU shot just 9-for-17 from the foul line in the first half but made up for it in the second half going 12-for-15.
The victory was the school-record 215th for ORU head coach Scott Sutton, who has a 215-153 record in his 12th season at Oral Roberts.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, and IUPUI at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.
