FARGO, N.D. - Five North Dakota State pitchers combined to throw a two-hitter and beat Dakota Wesleyan 13-0 in college baseball Tuesday, April 26, at Newman Outdoor Field.

Mark Hermes, Parker Trewin, Scott Dyck and Glenn Parker held the Tigers hitless over the final five innings, and the Bison staff faced only two batters over the minimum over the final seven innings with both runners reaching on infield errors.

Seventeen Bison players made plate appearances with catcher Tanner Adam going 3-for-5 with two runs scored to lead the attack.  Starters Zach Wentz, Tim Colwell and Zach Heidmann each had two hits, and Nick Anderson was 2-for-2 and scored twice off the bench.

NDSU (12-20) got the only run it needed in the bottom of the second when Nic Obey was hit by a pitch to start the inning, moved to third on Adam's single through the right side, and went home on a double steal with Adam.

The Bison went up 2-0 in the third.  Kyle Kleinendorst was hit by a pitch with two outs and Heidmann slapped a double down the left field line two pitches later.

NDSU sent 13 batters to the plate in a seven-run fourth inning and both teams went to the bench from there.

Dakota Wesleyan (9-35) used six pitchers in the game.  Starter Trevor Salmonson pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs, three earned, on eight hits and fell to 0-1 with the loss.

John Greicar hit a two-out single in the first and Nick Tadlock bounced a leadoff single in the second for Dakota Wesleyan's only two hits of the game.
