The 2012 home opener at Gate City Bank Field has been designated as a "Gold Rush"
game. North Dakota State University's football team will be wearing an
alternate “Gold” jersey against Robert Morris at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept.
1, in the Fargodome.
NDSU will also wear the gold jerseys on the road when the
Bison travel to Sioux Falls on Saturday, Oct. 20 to face the University of
South Dakota at Howard Wood Field.
Part of the
“Gold Rush” promotional theme is to encourage fans to wear “Gold” to the
designated games. NDSU asks all fans to wear gold to the home opener to create
a gold out effect as the Bison begin defense of their 2011 national
championship.
NDSU has also designated the Nov. 10 game against South
Dakota State as this year's Green and Gold Pride Day.
Fans will be asked
to wear either green or gold, depending on their seat location inside the
Fargodome, as part of Green and Gold Pride Day. A map designating what color
each section should wear will be released prior to that contest.
