Eric Amoako Joins NDSU Football Staff

FARGO, N.D. – Cornerbacks coach Eric Amoako joined the North Dakota State football staff Monday, Feb. 16.
 
Amoako spent the past two seasons as the cornerbacks coach at Campbell. He was a defensive analyst at Baylor in 2023, a defensive graduate assistant Washington in 2022, and a defensive graduate assistant at Wyoming in 2020 and 2021.
 
Originally from Arlington, Texas, Amoako started his collegiate playing career at Oregon in 2012 and 2013 before transferring to Houston Christian for the 2014 and 2015 seasons and Minnesota for 2016.
 
He started his coaching career in the spring of 2017 as a volunteer linebackers coach at Augsburg in Minneapolis, spent two seasons as the secondary coach at Arlington Seguin High School in 2017 and 2018, and was the secondary coach at De Anza College in California in 2019.
 
Amoako graduated from Houston Christian in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies and earned a master's in educational leadership from Minnesota in 2017 and a master's in health administration from Wyoming in 2021.
 
Amoako replaces Lewis Walker, who returned to NDSU in January before being hired at BYU in February. The position came open in December when Will Johnson was hired by Central Florida after two seasons at NDSU.
