Bison Soccer Hangs Tough at No. 14 Denver, Falls 2-1

DENVER – The North Dakota State women's soccer team lost 2-1 on the road at No. 14-ranked Denver on Sunday, Oct. 27.
 
Denver (16-1-1, 7-0 Summit) scored twice in the game's first 10 minutes, getting goals from Nicholette Digiacomo in the sixth minute and Anna Willis in the ninth minute. Both Pioneer goals came on headers.
 
NDSU (7-9, 3-3 Summit) responded with a goal from junior Anisha Kinnarath in the 31st minute, but was never able to score the equalizer. Kinnarath's goal was her seventh of the season, and freshman Lauren Miller earned her fifth assist on the year.

The Bison are the only Summit League team to score against Denver this season. The Pioneers outscored six league opponents by a combined 23-0 margin entering Sunday.
 
Denver outshot NDSU 18-3 and posted an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. Sierra Bonham made six saves for the Bison.
 
NDSU will host Fort Wayne on Friday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. for the regular season finale.
