NDSU Soccer Announces 2026 Signees as Signing Period Opens

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State soccer and head coach Mike Regan have announced the signing of 12 high school student-athletes at the opening of the signing period. The class features signees from eight different states, as well as one international.
 
Johanna Conn | GK | Huntington Beach, California | Mater Dei HS
Conn joins the Bison and comes to NDSU from Mater Dei High School, where the goalkeeper has been a key contributor in goal under Matty West. Twice named the team's MVP, Conn has a career 0.43 goals against average and an 87.2 save percentage. Last season, Conn had a 0.40 goals against average and stopped 89.6 percent of her shots faced. Conn has also been a key on her top 10 nationally ranked Girls Academy team, West Coast FC 08, helping the club to a 23-1-5 record with 18 shutouts and a 0.23 goals against average. She helped West Coast FC reach the Girls Academy Finals and also qualified for the Girls Academy Champions Cup two-consecutive years. Conn's uncle, Kyle Polak, was a keeper for Chivas USA in the MLS and the Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL. She intends to major in Animal Science at NDSU.
 
Amber de Wit | MF | Christchurch, New Zealand | Canterbury Secondary School
De Wit will come to NDSU from New Zealand, where the midfielder has been a part of the youth national team setup, as well as playing for Canterbury as a youth and as a reserve team member of Wellington Phoenix. The Christchurch native was a captain for the U17 New Zealand national team and has been a key player on the U16, U17 and U19 OFC FIFA Qualifier squads. De Wit was the top goal scorer for Canterbury and was named a finalist for the 2025 New Zealand national secondary school player of the year award. A part of the Wellington Phoenix reserves team, de With has been a crucial player for the club and has severed on the leadership group for the club. While with Canterbury Secondary School, de Wit also competed in cross country, track, futsal and triathlon. She intends to major in Exercise Science at NDSU.
 
Abby DeSena | F/MF | Ellicott City, Maryland | Centennial HS
DeSena comes to Fargo from Ellicott City, Maryland and Centennial High School, where she was a four-year starter for Chris Taylor and scored 48 career goals and 18 career assists. DeSena was named First Team All-Maryland this season and the Most Valuable Player for Centennial after a senior campaign that included a school record 23 goals and also seven assists. She led Centennial in goals as a sophomore, junior and senior and was also the leader in assists in her junior and senior campaigns, helping her to First Team All-Howard County honors in the last two seasons. As a part of Baltimore Armour Girls Academy, DeSena has 60 career goals and 24 career assists under head coach Sam Haddad, including 16 goals and 12 assists last season. She led Baltimore Armour 08 in goals and points in three of the last four years and led in goals, assists and points last season. She was also selected to the 2025 Girls Academy US National Selection Game. She has also played for the Baltimore Armour U23 team for two years and been a part of the Olympic Development Maryland and East Region setup, including being selected for international play in Barcelona in 2023. DeSena's sister played collegiately at Frostburg State form 2021-24, where she was recruited and coached by current NDSU Assistant Coach Ashley St. Aubin. DeSena intends to major in Economics at NDSU.
 
Alayna Gleeson | MF | Germantown, Wisconsin | Germantown HS
Gleeson will come to the Bison after wrapping up her career at Germantown High School this spring. Gleeson, who has primarily played as a midfielder in her prep career, played for the Germantown Warhawks as a freshman, earning all-conference honors, and has been a key part of FC Wisconsin's ECNL team since 2024. Gleeson was named First Team All-Conference in the ECNL in 2024 and 2025. She was selected as a U16 for the ECNL Conference Cup held at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. Gleeson has also competed in golf and track & field. She qualified for the regional championships on the golf course and helped her relay team set a time to qualify for the state meet. Gleeson intends to major in Construction Management at NDSU.
 
Mirabelle Keselman | D/MF | Brookline, Massachusetts | Brookline HS
Keselman joins NDSU from Massachusetts, where she plays for Brookline High School under coach Ben Peters, as well as for Kevin Mascary at Scorpions SC. The centerback scored goals this season for Brookline while leading the defense and guiding the program to the 2025 Massachusetts High School Girls Soccer Playoffs for four-straight years, including back-to-back semifinal appearances. The four-year starter on the backline for the Warriors scored five career goals and has been selected to the A Shot for Life Courage Cup, a New England all-star game. During her time with Scorpions SC, Keselman has been a U17 ECNL New England All-Conference honoree after leading the program to the ECNL playoffs. Prior to Scorpions SC, she played at New England Surf for the U15 and U16 teams. She helped lead New England Surd to the U15 DPL Championship and was selected as the captain for the U16 squad. She has also played basketball and ran track at Brookline. Her mother, Maia, was a collegiate volleyball player at Brown University.
 
Abigail Megill | F/MF | Aurora, Colorado | Lutheran HS
Megill is set to join the Bison from Aurora, Colorado and is coming off of a Colorado State Cup Most Valuable Player honor and the Colorado Rush ECNL Club Offensive Player of the Year season. Megill is teammates with fellow Bison signee Madison Miller on Colorado Rush. The forward/midfielder was selected first-team all-conference and first team all-Colorado last season. She finished as the top points and top goal scorer in the Pikes Peak League as a junior, tallying 15 goals and six assists in 18 games. Megill helped lead Colorado Rush U13-U17 to the ECNL Champions League playoffs every year. At the high school level, Megill led her high school program to the Colorado High School Soccer League titles as a freshman and junior. She has also made three-straight trips to the Colorado Soccer State Championships, including two appearances in the finals. Megill's sister, Mackenzie, plays college soccer at Western Carolina University. She intends to major in Finance at NDSU.
 
Maddie Miller | D | Lone Tree, Colorado | Valor Christian HS
Miller comes to Fargo from Lone Tree, Colorado, where she has been a three-year starter for Valor Christian, leading the program to the state championship semifinals last season from the back line. Miller is also a Colorado Rush teammate with fellow Bison signee Abigail Megill. Three times Miller has been named the Defensive Player of the Year for Colorado Rush ECNL and she has helped lead Colorado Rush U13-U17 to the ECNL Champions League playoffs every year. Miller's mom, Courtney, played college soccer at Northern Colorado. Her dad, Mike, had a very successful football career at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame, was a Harlan Hill Finalist and was an All-American Running back, still holding the career rushing record. Miller plans to major in Business Administration at NDSU.
 
Ambry Plate | MF | Greeley, Colorado | Windsor HS
Plate will join the Bison in Fargo from Greeley, Colorado, where the midfielder has been a consistent starter for Michael Lordemann at Windsor High School. In three seasons at Windsor Plate has scored 10 career goals and 16 career assists in just 24 games, including five goals and five assists as a junior last year in eight games. Plate has earned all-conference honors all three seasons at Windsor and garnered all-state accolades last season, helping her program to a state runner-up finish. Plate intends to major in Psychology at NDSU.
 
Hannah Smith | D | Fort Collins, Colorado | Rocky Mountain HS
Smith will come to NDSU after wrapping up her career at Rock Mountain High School in Fort Collins. Smith has played three years at Rocky Mountain on the back line, primarily as an outside back. Smith helped guide Rocky Mountain to the CHSAA state championships as a freshman and sophomore, including a quarterfinal appearance. She scored a goal in her junior season before missing most of the year due to injury. At the club level, Smith plays across the backline for the Colorado Rapids 08 Girls ECNL team. She also plays basketball for Rocky Mountain. Her mother, Danielle, played collegiate basketball at Metro State in Denver. The First Team Academic All-State selection is also a member of the National Honors Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and HOSA-Future Health Professionals.
 
Taylor Strickland | MF/F | Irvine, California | Portola HS
Strickland is set to join the Bison from Portola High School in Irvine, California, where she most recently led the program to the best season in school history with an undefeated league title and a CIF-SS semifinal appearance. The midfielder/forward closed out the regular season with 11 goals and 14 assists before chipping in three more goals and three assists in the program's CIF playoff run. She earned first team all-league honors for her junior season. Through two seasons as a starter heading into her senior campaign, Strickland ranks fourth in program history with 28 career goals and second in program history with 30 career assists. As a sophomore she was named the League MVP and League Rookie of the Year. Strickland also competes in track and field and holds several top-10 marks in the school's all-time history, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. She is second all-time in the long jump and triple jump. She has been a CIF-SS state qualifier in both the long jump and triple jump during her sophomore and junior seasons and was the league champion in the long jump. Strickland plans to major in Psychology at NDSU.
 
Claire Turner | F | Spirit Lake, Iowa | Spirit Lake HS
Turner will come to Fargo from Spirit Lake, Iowa, where the forward is coming off of a 70-goal, 8-assist campaign as a junior, on her way to her second-First Team All-Iowa selection. She set a program record with nine goals in a game during her junior season. A three-time First Team All-Conference and All-District selection, Turner has scored 129 career goals in three years, along with tallying 29 career assists. Turner has helped lead Spirit Lake/Okoboji to the highest winning percentage in program history in back-to-back seasons. Turner has also been a star on the hardwood too, becoming a 1,000-point scorer in basketball with multiple First Team All-Conference, All-District and All-Region honors, as well as a First Team All-State selection as a junior. She has led the team in points and assists all three seasons and also set the school record for points in a game with 40. Turner's dad, Erick, played football at Morningside. Her uncle, Geoff, played football for Colorado State and then in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins. She also has cousins who have played collegiately in soccer and football.
 
Marissa Weilert | F/MF | Minneapolis, Minnesota | Spring Lake Park HS
Weilert will join the Bison from the Twin Cities area, where she has been a four-year starter at forward and attacking midfielder for Spring Lake Park High School under Mindy Daugherty. Weilert has earned all-conference accolades all four years at Spring Lake Park, including after a two goal and 12 assist season this year. Weilert has helped lead her program to the sectional final over the last three seasons, including an undefeated junior season up until the sectional final. Weilert's sister, Breanna, plays soccer collegiately at Bemidji State. Weilert intends to major in Nursing at NDSU.
