NDSU Soccer Opens 2026 Season at Home Against Green Bay

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State soccer opens up the 2026 season on Thursday, August 13, as the Bison welcome in Green Bay to begin the regular season. Kickoff between the Bison and Phoenix is set for 6 p.m. at Dacotah Field.

Admission & Parking
Admission to all NDSU soccer home matches is FREE. Parking is available in Lot R west of Dacotah Field after 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays and all day on Sunday. Additional parking is available in Fargodome lots C and D.
Russmann, Garrett Tabbed by Summit League as Players to Watch
Amaya Garrett and Morgan Russmann have been tabbed as Summit League Players to Watch in the league's preseason release.
Garrett and Russmann headline the returning group of Bison that features 14 upperclassmen and held NDSU claim the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Championship. The duo has started every game for the Bison since they stepped on campus; Garrett with 54 games started and Russmann with 39.
Series History
The Bison meet the Phoenix for the 11th time in series history on Thursday and for the third time as a season opener. NDSU holds a 7-2-1 lead in the series dating back to 2004. The Bison claimed a 3-1 win at Green Bay to open up last season. NDSU is 3-0 in the series in Fargo, including a 1-0 win in the home opener in 2022.
Last Year Against Green Bay
NDSU scored three second-half goals to defeat Green Bay 3-1 in the 2025 season opener at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
After NDSU dominated much of a scoreless first half, Kendall Stadden and Isabel Garcia scored their first collegiate in the 55th and 58th minutes. Morgan Russmann was instrumental in the buildup of both goals.
In the 80th minute, Russmann set up another goal as she played a cross to the far side of the box, where Hannah Arnold smashed a half volley for the third and final NDSU goal.
Green Bay would add a late goal in the 88th minute off of a corner kick to cap the scoring in the contest. Hannah Stipp recorded two saves in goal for the Bison, facing eight shots from the Phoenix, including three on goal.
Home Sweet Home
The Bison have 12 home games on the schedule in 2026, with the most home games for NDSU in program history. NDSU's previous most home games in a season has been 10 on four occasions, the most recent in 2023.
NDSU is 60-35-11 (.618) all-time at Dacotah Field since moving in ahead of the 2013 season.

North Dakota State will remain at home and welcome in Marquette on Sunday, August 16. The Bison and Golden Eagles are set for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Dacotah Field.
