NDSU Soccer Falls to Green Bay in Season Opener

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State soccer opened the 2026 season Thursday evening at Dacotah Field, falling to Green Bay, 3-0.
Green Bay took an early lead in the 12th minute when Senah Hanes headed in a corner kick from Ava Nielsen. Payton Mulberry made three first-half saves to keep the deficit to one headed into the break.
NDSU had just three shots in the game and only one on target, with Amber Smith putting a shot on frame in the 43rd minute, but Green Bay goalkeeper Anna Scott made the save.
Green Bay added to its advantage early in the second half. Hanes scored her second goal of the night less than four minutes after the restart, and Laney Stark added another goal in the 54th minute to make it 3-0.
Green Bay held an 11-3 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in shots on goal. Mulberry finished with six saves total.
The Bison return to Dacotah Field on Sunday, August 16, hosting Marquette at 1 p.m.
