McClellan Leads NDSU Women’s Cross Country at Midwest Regional

AMES, Iowa – North Dakota State senior Maddie McClellan led the NDSU women's cross country team at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 15, placing 54th overall to help the Bison to an 18th-place team finish.

McClellan completed the six-kilometer Iowa State University Cross Country Course in a season-best 21:39.5 to be the top finisher for NDSU. Fellow senior Heidi Peterson was No. 2 for the Bison, taking 65th place in a season-best 21:49.1.

Redshirt freshman Erin Teschuk placed 93rd in 22:01.4, junior Abbi Aspengren was 114th in 22:21.1, and freshman Taylor Janssen rounded out the scoring by placing 190th in 23:43.9.

Host Iowa State University won the women's team title with 39 points, and Minnesota took second with 59. Crystal Nelson of Iowa State took top individual honors in 20:12.6.

McClellan concluded the season as the top finisher for the Bison in four out of six races.
