OMAHA, Neb. - Cory Buckley had three hits and Tyler Splichal drove in two runs to lead Omaha to a 4-2 win over North Dakota State in Summit League baseball Friday, April 26, at the Ballpark at Boys Town.

Tim Colwell hit his first home run of the year and Wes Satzinger and Kyle Kleinendorst both went 2-for-4 for North Dakota State (15-16, 3-4 Summit).   John Straka (5-2) allowed three earned runs on 10 hits with two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings.

Omaha starter Tyler Fox improved to 4-1 with the win allowing two runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings.  Derek Landis pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fourth save of the season.

Colwell hit the second pitch of the game over the right-field wall for a 1-0 lead, but Omaha (15-16, 9-0 Summit) got hits in four of its first five at-bats and went ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the first on a single by Splichal and a ground ball from Cole Gruber.

Ryan Keele's sacrifice fly in the third inning put Omaha up 3-1.  The Bison wasted a leadoff single and double in the fourth when Fox got a called strike three, a ground ball back to the mound and another strikeout to keep it a two-run game.

NDSU closed within 3-2 in the seventh when Michael Leach hit a leadoff single and scored from second on Satzinger's two-out single to left field.  David Ernst had a pinch-hit single with two outs in the eighth but the Bison went down in order after that.

The four-game series continues with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, April 27, and the final game at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at the Ballpark at Boys Town.
