CHARLOTTE, N.C.--North Dakota State University quarterback Brock Jensen was named to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards FCS Quarterback Award Watch List announced May 6. Jensen is one of 32 returning quarterbacks to make the list.
Jensen was named the NCAA Division I FCS Championship game MVP last season after directing the Bison to a 39-13 win over Sam Houston State. He was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference second-team last season and the College Sporting News NCAA Playoff MVP.
Two NDSU players have previously earned CFPA annual honors: 2010 CFPA Punter Award winner John Prelvitz and 2011 CFPA Defensive Back Award winner Marcus Williams.
Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 226-pound senior from Waupaca, Wis., has compiled a 32-5 record as a starter for the Bison. He completed 207 of 338 passes last season for 2,331 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He rushed the ball 111 times for 357 yards and 12 touchdowns.
All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration.
North Dakota State opens the 2013 season on Aug. 30 at Kansas State, televised nationally on Fox Sports 1.
