NDSU Releases BisonTracker App

FARGO, N.D. – NDSU Athletics, in partnership with the NDSU Alumni Association, released the BisonTracker app for iPhone and Windows Phone users Thursday, Aug. 29. The app will enhance the fan experience on Bison game day and offer an innovative method of tracking fellow Bison fans at home or on the road.

What is it?

The BisonTracker app will allow NDSU fans to check in at all games, home and away. Fans can use the unique GPS locator feature in the app to let friends know where they are tailgating and the location of their seats in any stadium the Bison are playing. The app also features a schedule of athletic and alumni events for each game weekend, and will allow fans to share their Bison pride with friends by earning badges for attending games.

How to Download the App

iPhone users can search "BisonTracker" in the app store.

Windows Phone users can also search "BisonTracker" in the app store.

The app is currently under development for Android. Expected launch date is coming soon.

How to Log In

You need to setup an account to use BisonTracker. This is similar to how you would need to setup a Facebook account to use Facebook. We use the Microsoft Account system. All NDSU student, faculty and staff email addresses are pre-registered. Any Outlook.com or Hotmail.com email address is also pre-registered. If you have a different email address (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), you need to register that email with the Microsoft Account system. Click this link to register your email address and begin using the app.

Using the Strobe Feature

Back again this year is the popular strobe light. Turn on the strobe light with thousands of others when the Fargodome lights go down before the game for a green and yellow light show.

To access the strobe light, fans must first be signed into the app. Once signed in on the iPhone, swipe across the screen from left to right and a menu table will appear. Click the strobe option and the strobe feature will appear. To turn off the strobe, swipe left to right and click the home option on the menu bar. To access the strobe on the Windows Phone, simply click the three small dots on the bottom right corner of the screen.

The BisonTracker app will replace the Bison Game Day app this season. iPhone users with the Game Day app will still be able to use the strobe feature on that app, in addition to new features on the BisonTracker app.

The complete features of the BisonTracker app can be found at http://bisontracker.com.
