The week ahead:
NDSU Soccer to Host Doublewood Inn Classic
Bison women's soccer will host the Doublewood Inn Classic Friday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 22 at Dacotah Field. The Bison will face Colorado State Friday at 7 p.m. before hosting Eastern Washington Sunday at 2 p.m. The other matches in the classic will feature Eastern Washington vs. SIU-Edwardsville at 4 p.m. Friday and SIU-Edwardsville vs. Colorado State at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The Series against Colorado State and Mountain West Conference Opponents
The Bison and Colorado State Rams have not met before. Friday's contest will be the inaugural meeting. Against Mountain West opponents, the Bison are 0-5-0 overall.
The Series against Eastern Washington and Big Sky Conference Opponents
Sunday's tilt with Eastern Washington will be the third meeting all-time. They lead the series 1-0-1. Last season NDSU defeated the Eagles in Cheney, 3-2. The Bison's record against Big Sky Conference opponents is 9-8-2.
About the Colorado State Rams
Colorado State enters the week at 1-3-1 overall after they settled for a 1-1 draw at Northern Arizona Sunday.
Offensively, the Rams are paced by four players with a goal each (S. Pchenitchnikova, E. Bratschun, C. Seib, A. Eckert). Pchenitchnikova and Eckert also have one assist each through five matches. The Rams primary goalkeeper is Elena Eldson. She enters the week with a goals-against average of 2.40, allowing 11 goals while making 22 saves. Her record in goal is 1-1-1 with one shutout.

Head Coach Mark Cook
Mark Cook is in his second season as the head coach of the North Dakota State University Bison women's soccer team and has a career record of 11-15-0. Cook led the Bison to an 8-10-0 overall record and a third place finish in The Summit League with a record of 5-3-0 in his inaugural season as the bench boss last year. He also led the Bison to their fourth straight bid to the conference postseason tournament with the third place finish in 2012.
Cook came to NDSU after serving as the Director of Coaching at the Minnesota Thunder Academy for 11 years, where he transformed a program with just four teams to one of the premier soccer club programs in the Twin Cities with 65 teams as of 2012. Under his leadership, Minnesota Thunder Academy placed almost 85 percent of all club graduates in collegiate soccer programs.
He graduated from Alfred (N.Y.) University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
The Opposing Coaches
Bill Hempen - Colorado State University
Bill Hempen is the Ram's first-ever head women's soccer coach after assuming the post Feb. 5, 2013.
Prior to being named the head coach at Colorado State, Hempen was the head coach at the University of Colorado and also served as a scout and player development coach for U.S. Soccer. His career coaching record is 276-188-44 in 24 years of coaching,
Hempen graduated with a degree in health/physical education from the University of Evansville in 1981.
George Hageage - Eastern Washington University
George Hageage enters his 14th season as the head women's soccer coach at Eastern Washington University. Hageage is the longest tenured women's soccer coach in the Big Sky Conference. His record in 13 seasons at Eastern Washington is 66-142-20.
Hageage received his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Richmond in 1988 and his master's in education from Toledo in 1998.
