FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State women's soccer team (7-7-2, 3-2-2 Summit League) dropped its 2014 home finale on Friday, Oct. 24, at Dacotah Field, 1-0, to the visiting Denver Pioneers (8-7-1, 4-2-0 Summit League). The setback snapped a five-match unbeaten streak for the Bison dating back to Oct. 3.
The Pioneers broke a scoreless tie and took a 1-0 lead over NDSU in the 58th-minute after Brooke Boothe scored on a Caitlin Higgins cross. It was Boothe's second goal of the season.
NDSU attempted to rally the final 32 minutes of the second-half, but the Bison couldn't find an equalizer, securing the win for Denver.
For the match, the Bison were outshot by the Pioneers, 20-5, and took three corner kicks compared to six from Denver.

Sierra Bonham posted a match-high eight saves, but suffered the loss after allowing the game-winning goal to fall to 7-7-2 in goal on the season.
Denver's Tina Vargas didn't make a save in the match, but tallied the win to improve to 5-2-0 between the posts.
North Dakota State is scheduled to close out the 2014 regular season on Friday, Oct. 31, at Oral Roberts. First kick from Tulsa, Okla., is slated for 7 p.m.
