FARGO, N.D.—The University of Wisconsin won five of the last six matches to defeat North Dakota State University 25-9 in a non-conference wrestling dual on Sunday, Nov. 30, before 523 fans at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. The Bison drop to 1-3, while the Badgers improve to 3-1.

Wisconsin and North Dakota State split the first four matches. NDSU's No. 12-ranked Josh Rodriguez posted a 9-6 decision over Johnny Jiminez at 125 pounds, while Clay Ream edged Wisconsin's Andrew Crone 8-7. Rodriguez improved to 3-1, while Ream is now 10-5 on the season.

The Badgers' No. 20-ranked Ryan Taylor recorded a pin at 6:13 over Kyle Gliva and NDSU's No. 20-ranked Mitch Bengtson dropped a 7-5 decision to Jesse Thielke.  Following the Ream-Crone match, the referee took a team point away from Wisconsin for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Three straight Wisconsin wins followed with Jarod Donar and No 6-ranked Isaac Jordan each recording major decisions over NDSU's Cole Sladek and Anthony Caputo, while Frank Cousins posted a 4-1 decision over No. 14-ranked Kurtis Julson.

North Dakota State's Hayden Zillmer snapped the string with a 7-6 win over No. 20-ranked Ricky Robertson at 184. Zillmer trailed 6-5 in the third period before a takedown with 35-seconds left. Zillmer, who is ranked No. 14 nationally, has won nine straight matches and improved to 12-1.

The Badgers' No. 12-ranked Timmy McCall posted a 6-3 decision over NDSU's Tommy Petersen at 197, while in a battle of nationally-ranked wrestlers, Wisconsin's No. 6 Connor Medbery recorded a 4-0 decision over No. 10 Evan Knutson at 285 pounds to close out the match.
