NDSU Men’s Athletics Program Finishes Ninth in Capital One Cup Final Men’s Standings

McLean, Va. – The North Dakota State University men's athletics program tied for ninth place in the Capital One Cup final men's standings released Friday, June 27, by the Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF), an official NCAA Corporate Champion.

The Bison men tallied 60 points in the final standings on the strength of their NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) win. NDSU has won back-to-back-to-back FCS championships.

The ninth place finish marks the third consecutive year the Bison men have placed in the top-15 of the Capital One Cup standings. NDSU tied for 10th in 2011-12 before finishing 13th in 2012-13.,

This is the fourth year of the Capital One Cup. Schools earn points based on their teams' top-10 finishes in NCAA Division I championships and in final official coaches' polls across 19 men's and 20 women's sports as they compete to win the Capital One Cup trophy and a combined $400,000 to fund scholarships for student-athletes. The 2013-14 men's Capital One Cup winner, Notre Dame, will be formally honored along with the women's Capital One Cup winner, Florida, at the ESPY Awards televised by ESPN on July 16 in Los Angeles.
