Live StatsFriday's Game: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (5-3 overall) will play at the University of North Dakota (4-4 overall) in Grand Forks on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

About North Dakota: The Fighting Hawks are 4-4 this season with a 2-1 record at home, and they will enter Friday with two straight wins – a 78-58 home victory over Waldorf College on Dec. 1 and a 65-59 double overtime win at Bradley on Dec. 5.
               In the Big Sky Conference preseason poll, UND was picked to finish eighth by the coaches and 10th by the media. UND finished last season with a record of 8-22 overall and 4-14 in conference play.
               Junior guard Quinton Hooker leads the Fighting Hawks with 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season. Sophomore forward Drick Bernstine is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game to lead UND on the glass. As a team, UND is shooting 40.3 percent to rank 294th in Division I.

The Series vs. North Dakota: UND leads the all-time series 159-129, dating back to 1905. This will be the sixth meeting as Division I opponents, with NDSU holding a 3-2 record in those contests. The 2010 game was the first since Feb. 7, 2004, ending a six-year period without any meetings.
               The home team has won each game between the schools as Division I opponents. NDSU's last win in Grand Forks came on Jan. 18, 2003.

Dexter Werner came off the bench to post 17 points and six rebounds in a 71-42 Bison victory. NDSU locked down on North Dakota defensively, holding UND to 19 points in the first half and 33.3 percent shooting for the game.

Scorer: Sophomore guard
Paul Miller ranks second in The Summit League and 54th in all of Division I with 19.1 points per game this season. With 153 total points through eight contests this season, Miller has already matched 71 percent of his total scoring output (214 points) as a freshman.

Life on the Road: Friday's game at North Dakota will be the last of four straight road games for NDSU. The Bison return home to play Montana State on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Game-Winner: Paul Miller scored 23 points including the game-winning three-pointer with 3.3 seconds remaining to lift the Bison to a come-from-behind road victory over Arkansas State, 74-73, on Dec. 4. NDSU trailed by as many as 13 points in the second half. Arkansas State led 67-56 with six minutes remaining in the game and still held an eight-point advantage at 69-61 with 2:30 left.

Double-Doubles: Miller recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds at No. 5-ranked Iowa State on Dec. 1. He became the third Bison with a double-double this season, as senior

Take Care: The Bison rank eighth in the nation for fewest turnovers per game with 9.8 this season.

Turnover Advantage: The Bison have had a significant advantage in the turnover department this season, ranking 13th in Division I with a plus-5.3 turnover margin. NDSU is averaging just 9.8 turnovers per game while creating 15.0 for its opponents.

Chris Kading has been named among the nominees for the Allstate NABC Good Works Team, an annual national award that honors student-athletes for their campus involvement and community service.

In Overtime: The Bison have won their last five overtime games, dating back to the start of the 2013-14 season.

Up at Half: Since the start of the 2013-14 season, the Bison are 42-1 when leading at halftime. NDSU led Illinois 39-28 at the half on Nov. 15 of this season before falling 80-74.

Slow Starts: In the last two games of November, NDSU trailed by at least a dozen points midway through the first half before surging back for victories. On Nov. 25 against Montana, NDSU trailed 23-11 with 10 minutes left in the opening period before rallying to earn a 73-53 victory. On Nov. 28 against North Carolina A&T, the Bison were down 20-5 midway through the first half but ultimately won, 77-56.

Home Court: With 28 straight home wins, the Bison are tied for the fourth-longest active home court winning streak in the nation. NDSU is 41-2 at home since the start of the 2012-13 season, with the only two losses being to Southern Miss (70-69) on Nov. 18, 2013, and Western Illinois (49-36) on Feb. 14, 2013.

High Level: NDSU is one of only nine mid-major programs in the country to post at least 23 victories in each of the last three seasons. Wichita State, Gonzaga, VCU, Stephen F. Austin, BYU, Louisiana Tech, Stony Brook and New Mexico State are the other eight.

David Richman is among the most successful coaches in the country who are under 40 years old. His .683 win percentage ranks fourth behind only Shaka Smart (Texas, .739), Mike White (Florida, .721) and Josh Pastner (Memphis, .718).

Paul Miller were the top-scoring freshman duo in The Summit League last season (18.3 combined PPG) and the top NDSU pair since Ben Woodside and Brett Winkelman in 2005-06.
