JONESBORO, Ark. – Sophomore Paul Miller scored 23 points including the game-winning three-pointer with 3.3 seconds remaining to lift the North Dakota State men's basketball team to a come-from-behind road victory over Arkansas State, 74-73, on Friday evening.
The Bison (5-2 overall) trailed by as many as 13 points in the second half. Arkansas State led 67-56 with six minutes remaining in the game and still held an eight-point advantage at 69-61 with 2:30 left.
Trailing by five with 0:41 on the clock, NDSU's Carlin Dupree converted the first of two free throws, but Dexter Werner skied to grab the rebound on the second and laid it in to make the score 73-71 with 40 seconds left.
At the defensive end, A.J. Jacobson took a charge to get the stop, and NDSU called a timeout with 10.7 seconds remaining. Miller caught the inbound pass, dribbled nearly the length of the floor to a spot on the right wing in front of the NDSU bench, and stepped back to drain the game-winning trey.

Miller added seven rebounds to go along with his 23 points. Jacobson scored a season-high 18 points, and Malik Clements had 15 points for NDSU. Werner finished with 10 rebounds.
The Bison shot 2-of-11 from three-point range in the first half but bounced back to make 6-of-13 from beyond the arc in the second half.
The Red Wolves shot 46 percent for the game, but NDSU posted a 17-9 margin in the turnover column.
NDSU plays at Southern Miss on Sunday, Dec. 6. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. CT in Hattiesburg, Miss.
