PDF Box ScoreHATTIESBURG, Miss. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Southern Miss team at Reed Green Coliseum on Sunday evening, falling 74-62 to the Golden Eagles.
NDSU (5-3 overall) led 5-0 early before Southern Miss scored 15 straight points to take a 15-5 lead. The Bison cut the deficit to two at 17-15 following five straight points by
Dexter Werner, but NDSU never regained the lead.
Southern Miss (1-6 overall) pushed the margin to 10 on a three-pointer from Quinton Campbell with two seconds left before halftime. The Golden Eagles led 37-27 at the break.
Southern Miss shot 51 percent for the game and 8-for-15 (53 percent) from beyond the arc. NDSU made just 21-of-56 shots (37.5 percent) and 8-for-27 (30 percent) from three-point range.
Campbell scored 17 points to lead Southern Miss, and freshman forward Eddie Davis III added 16 points and five rebounds.

Dylan Miller posted eight points and six rebounds in nine minutes for NDSU, including a string of tip-ins on three consecutive possessions in the second half.

The Bison will play North Dakota in Grand Forks on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
