PHOENIX - Bradley rallied for five runs in the 10th inning to beat North Dakota State 8-3 in the third game of the Grand Canyon University Classic at Brazell Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 14.
The Braves (2-0) put their first three batters on base in the 10th before Chris Godinez lifted a sacrifice fly to provide the eventual winning run. Â Tyler Leffler followed with a two-run single to extend the lead.
NDSU closer
Trevor Jaunich (0-1) allowed four earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks in the final two innings of work. Â Starter
Parker Trewin fanned five batters in five innings of work without allowing an earned run, and
Jay Flaa struck out four in three innings of relief.
Second baseman
Paul Funk was 2-for-2 with a double to lead the Bison (0-2), and designated hitter
Mason Pierzchalski drove in a pair of runs.
Bradley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Evan Gruener's home run. Â NDSU cut the lead to 2-1 in the third when Funk led off with a single and scored after a balk and two wild pitches.
Bradley went up 3-1 in the sixth on Leffler's sac fly, but the Bison made it 3-2 in the bottom of the inning when right fielder
Taylor Sanders hit a one-out double and scored on Pierzchalski's single.
NDSU tied the game in the eighth when third baseman
John Skrbec roped a leadoff double and scored on Pierzchalski's sac fly.
North Dakota State plays Omaha in a non-conference game at 3 p.m. CST on Sunday, Feb. 15.
