Biography

2015 SEASON (SENIOR): Played and started at third base in all 51 games for the Bison ... Hit .229 with 40 hits in 175 at bats ... Tallied a team-high 11 doubles to along with one triple and five home runs ... Compiled a team-high 30 RBI and a team-best 29 walks ... Also led the Bison in sacrifice flies with five ... Ranks second in career walks at NDSU with 81, seventh in games played with 179 and eighth in games started with 163 ... Led the Bison in assists with 93 in the hot corner ... Named second team All-Summit League.  

2014 SEASON (JUNIOR): Appeared in 44 games with 38 starts at third base for NDSU ... Hit .189 with 23 hits in 122 at bats ... Hit five doubles, one homer and drove in 16 runs ... Hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning of The Summit League tournament championship game May 24 in Sioux Falls, S.D., that gave the Bison a 6-0 lead in a 9-0 victory over the Western Illinois Leathernecks and helped NDSU secure its first Summit League tournament title in program history ... Had multiple hits in three contests ... Was second on the team in defensive assists with 70 in the hot corner ... Had a pair of stolen bases.

2013 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): Second team All-Summit League third baseman ... Played in 50 of 53 games with a .253 batting average, seven doubles, two home runs and 22 RBI ... Made 13 starts at shortstop in the first month of the season before moving to third base and making 33 starts down the stretch ... Named Summit League Player of the Week in May after hitting .348 with two game-winning home runs, seven RBIs, six runs scored, a triple and a stolen base in the home sweep of Fort Wayne ... First collegiate home run broke a 10-10 tie in the fourth inning of an 11-10 win over South Dakota State ... Belted a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th to beat Fort Wayne 4-2 in the first game of a doubleheader ... Went 3-for-4 with a run scored in the Summit League second round win over Western Illinois.

2012 SEASON (FRESHMAN): Hit .213 with two doubles and eight RBIs in 34 games ... Made 22 starts at third base and eight as designated hitter ... Went 3-for-3 with a triple in the final game of the SIU Edwardsville series ... Three other multi-hit games.

2011 SEASON (REDSHIRT): Sat out the entire season as a redshirt in the Bison program.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2010 from Grand Rapids High School ... Four-year starting pitcher and shortstop ... Drove in the only run in 1-0 win over Chaska in the 2008 Class 3A state quarterfinals en route to a third-place finish for the 26-3 Thunderhawks ... Finalist for the "Mr. Baseball" award in Minnesota his senior year and played in the Lions All-Star Series ... Teammates with fellow Bison player Kyle Kleinendorst ... Led the Grand Rapids American Legion team to three straight state tournament appearances from 2007 to 2009 ... Also a three-year starting forward and all-conference performer on the high school hockey team ... Scored 75 points in his prep career ... Hit .515 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI for the Grand Rapids American Legion in 2011 after his redshirt year.

PERSONAL: Son of John and Carey Skrbec of Grand Rapids, Minn. ... Has three older sisters, Sara, Erin and Leah ... Father played defensive back on the football team at St. John's (Minn.) in the 1970s ... Sara was a college swimmer at St. Benedict for three seasons from 2003-06 ... Majoring in management communication with a minor in psychology ... Played for the Walla Walla Sweets of the West Coast League in the summer of 2013 and 2014.
