PDF Box ScoreBROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped by South Dakota State on Saturday evening on the road at Frost Arena, as the Jackrabbits earned a 68-58 victory.
NDSU and SDSU are now tied in first place in The Summit League at 10-3. The Jackrabbits improved to 19-8 overall, while the Bison fell to 18-8.
NDSU senior
Lawrence Alexander led all players with 24 points. With five three-pointers in the game, Alexander tied the school's single-season record for three pointers at 85. Ross Manson also made 85 treys in the 1993-94 season.
SDSU had five players score in double figures, led by junior guard George Marshall with 20 points. The Jackrabbits capitalized on a 41-27 rebounding advantage and 14 offensive boards.
The Bison trailed 29-24 at halftime but fought back to hold a 50-47 lead on a three-pointer by
A.J. Jacobson with 7:53 remaining. NDSU trailed 54-53 with 4:55 left in the game when the Jackrabbits went on an 8-1 run over the next 2:30.
Jacobson scored 14 points in the game, and
Carlin Dupree added 10 for the Bison. Alexander tallied a season-high nine rebounds.
The Bison return home to host IUPUI and Fort Wayne next week on Thursday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 21.
