Dexter Werner recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds to help guide the North Dakota State men's basketball team to a 65-52 road win over Western Illinois in Summit League play on Saturday afternoon.

The Bison led for more than 37 of the game's 40 minutes. NDSU improved to 14-7 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Kory Brown led NDSU with 15 points, giving the senior four straight games with 14 or more in the scoring column. Sophomore
Paul Miller added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Bison.

NDSU committed a season-low four turnovers in the win. The Bison shot 39 percent for the game, but 48 percent in the second half.

NDSU limited Western Illinois to 35-percent shooting on the night. It was the third time this season that the Bison held a conference opponent under 55 points.

The Bison held a 29-26 advantage at halftime, but the Leathernecks tied the contest at 31-31 with 17:36 remaining. Brown scored four straight points with a pair of free throws and a bucket in the lane to put NDSU back on top.

Leading 41-38 with 13 minutes to play, the Bison used a 7-0 run capped by two baskets from
Paul Miller to push the margin to 10.

NDSU has now won six consecutive games over Western Illinois.

NDSU will play next on Sunday, Jan. 31, when the Bison travel to Indianapolis to take on IUPUI.
