FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University women's soccer team earned a 3-0 shutout victory over the Western Illinois University Leathernecks on a windy Sunday afternoon, Oct. 9, at Dacotah Field.
With the win, the Bison improve to 8-6-0 overall and 3-1-0 in Summit League action, while the Leathernecks dip to 3-9-1 on the season and 1-3-0 in league play.
NDSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead early, as senior
Olivia Norman scored three minutes into the match off an assist from sophomore
Roxy Roemer. It was Norman's first goal of the season.
The Bison lead remained 1-0 until sophomore
Holly Enderle scored her team and Summit League-high eighth goal of the season off an assist from fellow sophomore
Britney Monteon in the 62nd-minute, increasing the NDSU advantage to 2-0.

Mallory Fenske headed in a high-arching cross-pass from senior
Hannah Butzlaff in the 73rd-minute to make it 3-0, North Dakota State. It was Fenske's first goal of the season.
For the match, NDSU outshot WIU 15-3, including an 8-2 edge in shots on goal, and compiled a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Bison sophomore goalkeeper
Julia Edelstein earned her first career win and shutout between the posts after making two saves and surrendering no goals in 90 minutes to improve to 1-0-0 on the season.
WIU goalkeeper Jennifer Currie took the loss after giving up all three NDSU goals and making a match-high five saves to fall to 2-4-0 in-goal.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host the University of Denver Pioneers Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. under the lights at Dacotah Field.
