Oakland Downs Bison Women Monday

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The North Dakota State University women's basketball team fell at Oakland, 95-66, on Monday, Dec. 5, in front of 783 spectators at the Athletic Center O'rena in Rochester, Michigan.

The Bison (1-8) are scheduled to begin a two-game homestand on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. inside the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex against the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

Junior Taylor Thunstedt led NDSU with 16 points and went 5-of-10 at the three-point line, while freshman Sarah Jacobson netted a career-best 13 points and dished out a game-high five assists.

Senior Brianna Jones paced the Bison on the boards, pulling down a season-best 12 rebounds, while fellow senior Emily Spier netted 12 points on 60 percent shooting from the floor.

For the game, NDSU shot 40 percent from the field (26-of-64), 38 percent from three-point range (8-of-21) and just 43 percent from the free-throw line (6-of-17).

North Dakota State committed 24 turnovers, which led to 35 Oakland points.

The Golden Grizzlies (5-3) were led by Taylor Gleason with 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, while Hannah Little posted a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Oakland shot 48 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Bison, 48-40.

The Golden Grizzlies also outscored NDSU in the paint, 60-34.
