Bison Women Fall at IPFW Saturday, 85-69

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The North Dakota State University women's basketball dropped its regular season finale at IPFW, 85-69, on Saturday, Feb. 27, inside the Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne.
With the loss, the Bison finish their 2015-16 season at 7-22 overall and 2-14 in The Summit League.
Taylor Thunstedt scored 19 points to lead NDSU, while senior Marena Whittle added 14 points in her final game as a Bison.
Emily Spier posted a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, and Kennedy Childers tallied 12 points, including a three-quarter court three-pointer at the end of the first-half, to round out the Bison in double figures.
North Dakota State outrebounded the Mastodons (7-22, 3-13 Summit League), 35-34, in the game but committed 17 turnovers which led to 22 IPFW points. NDSU was also outscored in the paint, 28-12.
For the game, the Bison shot 36 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free-throw line.
Kamilah Carter netted a game-high 30 points to lead the Mastodons.
IPFW shot 45 percent from the field, 39 percent from long range and 90 percent at the foul line in the contest.
