Oral Roberts, IPFW Visit North Dakota State this Week

The Games: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (14-8 overall, 4-4 Summit League) will host the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (11-12, 3-6) on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. and the IPFW Mastodons (18-6, 7-2) on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m.
 
Where to Watch: Thursday's game against Oral Roberts will be available on Midco Sports Network 2 and ESPN3. Saturday's game vs. IPFW will be broadcast on MeTV across the state of North Dakota. Both games will also be streamed live at GoBison.com/allaccess.
 
Radio: KFGO-AM 790 of Fargo will broadcast both games with Jeremy Jorgenson calling the play-by-play. Coverage includes 20-minute pregame and postgame shows. Free audio streaming will be available at GoBison.com/allaccess.

Food Fight: Thursday's game vs. Oral Roberts has been designated for the Summit League Food Fight Challenge. The NDSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting food and/or cash donations at Scheels Arena, and at the end of the Food Fight schedule, the league school that collects the most food (measured in pounds) and cash donations will be declared the winner.
                 Fans can make their donations to the Summit League Food Fight Challenge in the lobby of Scheels Arena prior to the game, and t-shirts will be given to those who donate. 
 
About Oral Roberts: Oral Roberts enters this week with a record of 11-12 overall and 3-6 in The Summit League. The Golden Eagles have lost three straight games to South Dakota State, Omaha and IPFW.
                Senior guard Obi Emegano leads Oral Roberts in scoring with 23.2 points per game this season. Emegano ranks second among all active Division I players with his career scoring average of 20.1 points per game. Forward Brandon Conley leads the Golden Eagles on the glass with 6.2 rebounds per contest.
                As a team, Oral Roberts ranks 303rd in the country in scoring defense, allowing 78.2 points per game.
 
The Series with Oral Roberts: Thursday will be the 19th meeting between North Dakota State and Oral Roberts dating back to 1967-68. ORU leads the series 11-7, and the Golden Eagles have won six of the last eight games between the two schools.
                Each team won on its home court last season, and NDSU earned a 60-56 victory in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament. ORU beat NDSU 66-65 in Tulsa on Jan. 9 this season.
 
Last Time vs. Oral Roberts: The Bison cut a 10-point second half deficit to one, but an 18-foot jumper from Dexter Werner missed at the buzzer, and Oral Roberts escaped with a 66-65 victory on Jan. 9.
                Werner posted his second double-double of the season to lead the Bison, finishing with a season-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.
                Oral Roberts was led by 13 points apiece from senior guard Obi Emegano and sophomore center Albert Owens.
                With the game tied at 34-34, the Golden Eagles put together a 10-0 run keyed by seven straight points from Emegano. ORU led 44-34 with 16:48 remaining.
 
About IPFW: The Mastodons are 18-6 overall and 7-2 in The Summit League entering the week, with an 8-4 mark on the road. Senior guard Max Landis is shooting 48 percent from three-point range and leads the team with 17.8 points per game. Redshirt freshman guard John Konchar is averaging 12.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest.
                As a team, IPFW ranks 10th in the nation with 10.0 three-pointers made per game and 41-percent shooting from beyond the arc.
 
The Series with IPFW: The all-time series between NDSU and IPFW is tied at 11-11. The Bison have won six of the last 10 meetings with the Mastodons overall.
                The two schools split their games last season, with the home team winning both times. IPFW won 77-71 in Fort Wayne, and NDSU responded with a 66-62 victory on Senior Day in Fargo on Feb. 21. This season, the Mastodons pulled out a 79-74 win in Fort Wayne on Jan. 21.
 
Last Time vs. IPFW: Kory Brown and Paul Miller both scored 23 points, but the Bison lost 79-74 to IPFW on the road on Jan. 21.
                NDSU held a seven-point lead in the second half, but the Bison went scoreless for nearly six minutes late in the game, and IPFW scored 10 straight points to take the lead and claim the victory.
                Senior guard Max Landis led the Mastodons with 17 points. Redshirt freshman guard John Konchar finished with 10 points and 19 rebounds for IPFW.
                Brown's 23 points were a new career high.
 
Against The Summit League: NDSU is 33-10 in its last 43 games against Summit League opponents and 47-15 over the last three-plus seasons.
 
Productive Minutes: Dylan Miller had seven rebounds and a season-high four blocks in 14 minutes at IUPUI on Jan. 31.
 
Lot of Threes: Paul Miller ranks 32nd in the nation with 63 three-pointers this season.
 
Elevating His Game: Kory Brown's four highest point totals this season have all come in the last five games. Since Jan. 13, Brown is averaging 16.4 points and 8.2 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the field, 84 percent from the free throw line, and 5-of-7 from three-point range.
 
Career Highs at IPFW: Kory Brown scored a career-high 23 points, and sophomore Paul Miller drained a career-best five three-pointers at IPFW on Jan. 21.
 
From Downtown: Paul Miller has made at least four three-pointers in six out of eight conference games. He is shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc in league play.
 
Racking Up Starts: Senior Kory Brown has made 112 career starts, ranking him fifth in NDSU history behind Lawrence Alexander (131), Marshall Bjorklund (127), Brett Winkelman (118) and Ben Woodside (118).
 
Rebound Rate: Dexter Werner leads The Summit League with 14.7 rebounds per 40 minutes.
 
Home Court:  NDSU saw its 31-game home win streak come to an end on Jan. 7 at Scheels Arena, as the Omaha Mavericks posted a 91-82 victory over the Bison. NDSU's run of 31 consecutive home victories was the sixth-longest active streak in the nation. The Bison had not lost at home since a 70-69 defeat to Southern Miss on Nov. 18, 2013 – a span of 780 days.
                NDSU is 46-3 at home since the start of the 2012-13 season.
