FARGO, N.D. – Redshirt sophomore Logan Busch hit a two-out walk-off solo home run down the right field line in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the North Dakota State University baseball team to a 4-3 win over the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles in the second game of a three-game Summit League series on Saturday, April 30, at Newman Outdoor Field.

With the victory, the Bison secure their first-ever series victory over the Golden Eagles and improve to 23-18 overall and 9-11 in Summit League play. ORU falls to 25-15 on the season and 14-6 in league action.

Busch, a native of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., tallied a game-high three hits, including a double and his first homer of the season, in addition to two runs scored and the game-winning RBI to lead NDSU at the plate.

Right-handed reliever Sean Terres (1-1) earned the win on the mound for the Bison after allowing no earned runs on one hit in 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts and one walk.

NDSU left-handed starter Parker Trewin tossed six innings and gave up only one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

North Dakota State took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Ben Petersen hit an RBI single to left field to score Drew Fearing, who reached base on a fielding error to begin the inning.

Oral Roberts tied the contest, 1-1, in the top of the third on a Chase Stafford RBI double.

The contest remained deadlocked at one until the bottom of the seventh inning when NDSU scored two runs on one hit and an error to gain a 3-1 edge. Matt Elsenpeter crossed home plate on an ORU fielding error for the opening run of the frame before Busch scored on a wild pitch.

The Golden Eagles responded, though, and tied the game, 3-3, with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth on a Brent Williams RBI single and NDSU fielding error.

Catcher Matt Whatley compiled three hits and scored a run to pace Oral Roberts in the batter's box.

ORU closer Brady Womacks (2-2) suffered the loss on the mound after giving up the game-winning run.

The third and final game of the series is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.
