Emily Minnick connected for 21 kills,
Emily Miron recorded nine blocks and
Emily Milligan came up with 16 digs as the Yellow turned back the Green 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23) on Saturday, Aug. 20, in the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse as the North Dakota State University volleyball team closed out the preseason with its annual intrasquad scrimmage.
North Dakota State is scheduled to open the regular season at 7 p.m. Central Friday, Aug. 26, against No. 25-ranked Colorado State in Fort Collins.
Minnick, a 6-foot-1 senior middle blocker from Willmar, Minn., finished with 21 kills and only two errors in 45 attacks for a .422 hitting percentage. She led a group of six players with double-figure kills including the 16 from the 6-2 Miron. Redshirt freshman
Alex Erickson followed with 14 kills,
Hadley Steffen claimed 13,
Jessica Jorgensen notched 12 and
McKenzie Burke had 11. The Yellow outhit the Green .235 to .155.
Six of Miron's nine blocks came with the Yellow team including several in the fourth and deciding set. Collectively, the Yellow was bullish at the net and recorded 14 team blocks compared to five for the Green. Minnick chipped in five blocks.

Brianna Rasmusson was kept busy with 40 assists, 14 digs and five blocks. Rasmusson had five kills and hit. 714. Green's driving force was
Monica Claxton, who contributed 43 assists, seven digs, a pair of service aces and two blocks.
Milligan, a 5-5 senior from La Grange, Ill., recorded a match-high 16 digs and led a group of six players with double-figure efforts. Burke finished with 14 digs,
Morgan Morgan added 13,
Ali Moody claimed 11 and
Hannah Jessen collected 10. Jessen also served three aces.
