Bison Women Fall at UC Riverside Sunday, 1-0

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The North Dakota State University women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at UC Riverside on Sunday, Aug. 28, at UC Riverside Soccer Stadium.

With the setback, the Bison fall to 2-2-0 overall, while UC Riverside improves to 1-1-2 on the season.

The Highlanders' Tayler Dragoo netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 61st-minute of the match off a free-kick outside the left side of the box.

Freshman Mariah Haberle and senior Lauren Miller both tallied two shots on goal to lead the North Dakota State offense.

Freshman goalkeeper Monica Polgar took the loss in goal for the Bison to fall to 2-2-0 on the season after allowing one goal with four saves in 90 minutes.

Dragoo led UC Riverside offensively with the goal and two shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Alanna Guzman earned the win between the posts for the Highlanders after surrendering no goals while making five saves to improve to 1-1-2 overall.

North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday, Sept. 2, for a 4 p.m. match against the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
