DENVER, Colo. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team lost to Denver 79-55 on Saturday afternoon at Magness Arena.
NDSU (12-6 overall, 4-1 Summit League) remains in first place in the league standings. Junior
A.J. Jacobson scored 13 points to lead the Bison.
Denver (11-7 overall, 3-2 Summit League) shot 48 percent for the game and limited the Bison to 32-percent shooting. Denver junior center Daniel Amigo finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds in a dominating performance.
The Pioneers earned a 40-20 advantage in points in the paint.
NDSU committed only seven turnovers in the game, but struggled with shooting, making only 19-of-60 attempts. Senior
Carlin Dupree had four assists, and freshman
Tyson Ward grabbed six rebounds.
The Bison trailed 18-15 with eight minutes left in the first half, but Denver put together a 10-0 run over the next three minutes. The Pioneers stretched the margin to 43-23 at halftime.
NDSU will host Fort Wayne on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.
