INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Jaguars outscored the North Dakota State University women's basketball team 19-12 in the fourth quarter to earn a 71-58 victory over the Bison on Saturday, Jan. 21, inside The Jungle in downtown Indianapolis.

NDSU falls to 5-15 overall and 3-4 in Summit League play with the loss, while IUPUI improves to 14-6 on the season and 4-3 in league action.

Freshman Reilly Jacobson and junior Taylor Thunstedt each scored 15 points to lead the Bison, while senior Brianna Jones tallied her team-best fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

North Dakota State rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to take a 43-42 lead after Thunstedt converted a pair of free throws with 5:55 remaining in the third quarter. IUPUI regained a two-point lead after a three from Sydney Hall 15 seconds later, but freshman Anna Goodhope put the Bison back in front with a shot from long range with 5:10 to go in the period.

The Jags answered, though, and regained the lead for good after a free-throw and layup from Danielle Lawrence with 1:19 to go in the third stanza.

NDSU shot 42 percent from the field and 46 percent from three-point range in the game, but committed 20 turnovers, which led to 27 IUPUI points.

The Bison outrebounded the Jaguars, 33-24, but were outscored in the paint, 24-22.

Lawrence netted a game-high 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting, pacing IUPUI.

The Jags shot 51 percent from the floor and 42 percent from beyond-the-arc for the contest.

North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to Vermillion, S.D., to take on South Dakota on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
