NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The North Dakota State men's basketball team nearly became the fourth visiting team to win in the past 78 games at Stephen F. Austin, but the Lumberjacks held on for a 54-50 victory on Tuesday night.

Paul Miller led NDSU (3-3) with 15 points, and sophomore guard
Jared Samuelson scored a career-high 14 for the Bison. Miller added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Stephen F. Austin (6-1) was led by 15 points from Shannon Bogues. NDSU limited the Lumberjacks to 33-percent shooting for the contest, but SFA took 28 free throws compared to NDSU's 11.

NDSU led 31-30 early in the second half. The Bison later cut a 10-point deficit to four at 46-42 following back-to-back three-pointers by
A.J. Jacobson with 4:33 to play.
