Saturday's Game: The North Dakota State men's basketball team (3-5 overall) will travel north to Grand Forks to take on the University of North Dakota (4-4) on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

About North Dakota: The Fighting Hawks are 4-4 this season. Junior guard Geno Crandall leads UND with 17.0 points per game, and sophomore guard Marlon Stewart is averaging 13.1 points. Senior forward Dale Jones leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 boards per contest.
               Head coach Brian Jones is in his 12th season at North Dakota with a record of 170-183. The Fighting Hawks finished 22-10 last season.

The Series vs. North Dakota: UND leads the all-time series 160-131, dating back to 1905. This will be the ninth meeting as Division I opponents, with NDSU holding a 5-3 record in those contests. The Bison have won two games in a row in Grand Forks, winning 69-67 on Dec. 11, 2015, and posting an 87-70 victory on Dec. 16, 2016.

Last Time vs. North Dakota: The Bison ran away with an 87-70 victory over in-state rival North Dakota at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Dec. 16 of last season. NDSU led for 29 of the game's 40 minutes.
Paul Miller led the Bison with 22 points and eight rebounds.
A.J. Jacobson added 18 points, making 9-of-10 attempts at the free throw line. NDSU shot 53 percent in the game and made 9-of-20 attempts from three-point range. Seven different Bison players made at least one three-pointer.

Doesn't Happen Often: The Bison are on their first three-game losing streak since late February and March of 2012. NDSU had played 168 games in that stretch without losing three in a row.

Schedule Note: North Dakota State and Omaha are the only two Summit League men's basketball teams that haven't played a game against a non-Division I opponent this season. As of the end of this week, five Summit League teams will have already played at least two non-Division I games.

Pair of 1,000-Point Scorers: NDSU is one of just 21 Division I teams that have at least two active 1,000-point scorers. Seniors
Paul Miller and
A.J. Jacobson both surpassed 1,000 career points in the first half of NDSU's win over Denver on Feb. 11 of last season. Jacobson became the 33rd Bison to reach the milestone, and Miller was the 34th.

Paul Miller is averaging 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists over the past five games.

No Freebies: Only seven Division I teams are attempting fewer free throws per game than NDSU this season. The Bison have averaged 14.1 free throw attempts through eight contests.

Award for Ward: Sophomore
Tyson Ward was named the Summit League Player of the Week on Nov. 27 for his performance in two Bison victories on Nov. 22 and Nov. 25. Ward averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the NDSU wins over Florida A&M and Stetson, shooting 68 percent from the field. He scored a career-high 26 points in the blowout win over Stetson on Nov. 25.

Samuelson Fills it Up: Sophomore guard
Jared Samuelson scored a career-high 14 points in NDSU's 54-50 loss at Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 28. He scored 13 of his 14 in the first half.

Into the Top 20: Senior guard
Paul Miller ranks 20th in school history with 1,233 points. He moved into NDSU's all-time top 20 vs. Missouri State on Monday, passing Ron Schlieman (1965-68).

Sharing the Love: NDSU's 20 assists against Stetson on Nov. 25 were its most against a Division I opponent since recording 22 at IUPUI on Jan. 17, 2013.
